An initial, non-refundable deposit will be secured at the time of booking confirmation. Accepted credit cards are Visa and MasterCard.
The balance is to be paid directly to the supplier on arrival.
 

Country Level Rental Policies	New Zealand - NZ
Additional Driver	Each additional driver is charged at a flat fee per day of NZD 5.00 which excludes GST. The fee is capped at 6 days. For National bookings additional drivers are included
Age Requirements	Minimum driver age of 21 years old. There is no maximum age, however under 25 years old will only be able to reduce their damage liability to NZD 340.00. (excluding GST) A young driver surcharge of NZD 13.00 per day which eccludes GST applies to all Drivers aged between 21-24 years old. Drivers aged between 21-24 are restricted to vehicles ECMR, ECAR, CDAR and IDAR only. All drivers must have held their licence for a minimum of one year. If any driver is on a probationary licence there is an additional Probationary Licence Fee of NZD 20 per day which excludes GST.
Forms of Payment	A valid credit card or debit card must be provided for all rentals. For payments we accept all major credit cards, debit cards and cash and for deposits we only accept all major credit cards, we do not accept debit cards or not cash. Charges for options and coverage must be settled at the commencement of the rental together with a deposit (bond). The credit card holder is listed as the hirer and must be present at the time of rental commencement. The credit card deposit by way of authorisation is NZD 200.00. A credit card fee applies as follows and is applicable to all rental charges excluding the deposit bond; including any optional items purchased and damage liability charges. There is no refund of credit card surcharges: Redspot and Alamo American Express, Diners Card - 4.50 pct Excluding GST Visa, MasterCard - 1.50 pct Excluding GST Enterprise All credit cards - 0.80 pct Excluding GST National All Credit Cards - 0.00 pct Union Pay Cards: Unfortunately, the rental location cannot accept a card branded only by Union Pay. The rental location accepts Visa and MasterCard with Union Pay logo on the card.
Renter Requirements	We accept current New Zealand, International and overseas licences. Overseas licences that are not easily identifiable as a drivers licence must be accompanied by an International Licence or English translation. Valid driver’s licence must be held for a minimum of 12 months.
Cross Border Policy	The Renter must not use the Vehicle outside the Permitted Area of Use. If the renter takes the Vehicle outside the Permitted Area of Use their Liability for any loss or damage will increase and any optional damage waiver selected void. Vehicles may not be driven above the snow line from June to October, on beaches, in watercourses or rivers. “Permitted Area of Use” means the area in which the Vehicle may be driven. The Permitted Area of Use is limited as described on our Terms and Conditions. Parts of New Zealand are not suitable for access by rental vehicles. You must not take the Vehicle: (i) Off road; means any area not a legally designated public road (ii) on Unsealed roads; means a legally designated public road, that is formed but not sealed with a hard materials such as bitumen, asphalt or concrete (Unless ULDL is purchased) (iii) to Snow areas; means any area were snow or ice is present on the ground or any area where it is recommended or required that snow chains are fitted to any vehicle(unless Snow Cover is purchased) (iv) between the North and South Islands in either direction or on to any island other than mainland New Zealand’s North or South Islands. Will change with one-way-rental policy development-note to us (v) through any river, creek, ford, stream, flood areas or tidal crossings (vi) on the following roads: Ball Hutt (Mt Cook), Skippers Canyon (Queenstown), 90 Mile Beach (Northland) and the coast road to Russell (Northland) (vii) on all roads north of Colville on the Coromandel Peninsula, the Tapu to Coroglen road(all parts east of Rapaura Gardens), the 309 road from Coromandel to Kairnarama and the Blackjack Road from Kuatuna and Opito and Lake Waikarimoana Rd State Highway 38 (Central North Island) (viii) or on the following highways in the South Island between the hours of 2200 and 0600 local time from April 1 until October 31; State Highway 6 and 8, between Twizel and Queenstown; The Milford Road between Te Anau and Milford Sound; State Highway 6 between Franz Joseph and Wanaka; or Arthurs Pass.

One Way Rentals	Possible to and from most locations as they open. One way drop fees apply for all valid one-way rentals in New Zealand. In the event that the renter returns the vehicle to a location that differs from the one noted on the original rental agreement, then Redspot Car Rentals reserves the right to charge a relocation fee based on the KM distance table below. Baby Seat	Child restraints are compulsory when transporting infants and young children by motor vehicle on New Zealand roads. All vehicles are fitted with child restraint anchor points. Baby Seats are available at all locations in limited supply. We recommend baby seats are pre-booked to avoid disappointment. A one time fee of NZD 34.78 exclusive of GST with a maximum rental charge of NZD 34.78 exclusive of GST applies. In cases of loss or damage a replacement fee of NZD 290.00 exclusive of GST will be charged to the renter. We offer a child restraint which is the reversible type. When fitted in the reverse position it is suitable for newborn to 6-month old babies with the baby facing the rear of the vehicle. When fitted in the upright position the child restraint is recommended for infants of 6 months to 5 years of age with the infant and restraint facing forward. Our intent is to ensure that our customers receive a level of service that they would expect in ensuring that the child seats (restraints) are correctly fitted, meeting all manufacturers safety standards and requirements. Some of our staff are been trained in the fitting of child safety restraints, and only these staff will be able to fit the restraints, or to advise on what they believe to be the best type of restraint and method of fitting. Please be aware however, that if you have requested a restraint be fitted, that the child restraint you have booked has been installed in the car for your convenience. Please check that the restraint is installed to your requirements before driving off, as we do not take any responsibility for incorrect fitting.

It elevates the height of a child to enable the alignment of the sash of a lap sash seat belt across the child’s shoulder and is recommended for children of 5 to 9 years of age (legal requirement is 7 years of age). A one time fee of NZD 34.78 exclusive of GST with a maximum rental charge of NZD 34.78 exclusive of GST applies. In cases of loss or damage a replacement fee of NZD 290.00 exclusive of GST will be charged to the renter. Our intent is to ensure that our customers receive a level of service that they would expect in ensuring that the child seats (restraints) are correctly fitted, meeting all manufacturers safety standards and requirements. GPS	Portable Satellite Navigation systems are available for rental. The units are supplied with cradles to fix to the windscreen of the vehicle and charging units for the batteries. The units are available at all locations subject to availability. We recommend GPS units are pre-booked to avoid disappointment. A daily fee of NZD 7.82 exclusive of GST with a maximum rental charge of NZD 46.96 exclusive of GST. In cases of loss or damage a replacement fee of NZD 200.00 exclusive of GST will be charged to the renter.
Ski Racks	Ski Racks are available for rental. The units are subject to availability and be pre-booked to avoid disappointment. The Ski Racks will be fitted to the vehicle prior to collection. A daily fee of NZD 10 exclusive of GST. In cases of loss or damage a replacement fee of NZD 250.00 exclusive of GST will be charged to the renter. Some vehicle models and classes are not suitable for Ski Racks and we highly recommend checking to ensure the class selected is suitable.

Snow Chains	Snow Chains are available for rental. Chains are subject to availability and be pre-booked to avoid disappointment. All staff are trained in how to fit the chains and will show the renter. A hard copy of instructions will also be provided to the renter. A daily fee of NZD 5.00 exclusive of GST. In cases of loss or damage a replacement fee of NZD 250.00 exclusive of GST will be charged to the renter. Some vehicle models and classes are not suitable for Ski Racks and we highly recommend checking to ensure the class selected is suitable.

Fuel Service Option	Vehicles are supplied with a full tank of fuel. Where a vehicle is returned with less than a full tank of fuel, the renter will be charged for fuel at NZD 3.30 per litre. A pre-paid fuel option is available at time of collection at a discounted rate per litre. All fuel charges must be settled by the renter.
Collision Damage Waiver	All vehicles rented come with a standard cover as below: Economy ECAR-ECMR, Compact CDAR, Intermediate-Midsize IDAR, Fullsize FCAR NZD 2,875 including GST Intermediate-Midsize SUV IFAR, Fullsize FDAR, Fullsize SUV FFAR, Fullsize Elite GDAR, Premium PDAR, Premium Van PVAR NZD 3,450 including GST Your Loss or Damage Liability - LDL is the amount payable by you in the event of loss or damage to the Vehicle even if you are not at fault. Your liability includes damage to the vehicle, damage to other vehicles, a Claims Administration Fee, loss of use, towing and more. For a small daily fee you can reduce your damage liability. With the purchase of CDW Collision Damage Waiver you will only be liable up to the nominated liability for the cost of repair to your vehicle or any 3rd parties’ vehicle or property. Economy ECAR-ECMR, Compact CDAR, Intermediate-Midsize IDAR, Fullsize FCAR ranges from NZD 19.00 and NZD 22.00 depending on the rental location. Intermediate-Midsize SUV IFAR, Fullsize FDAR, Fullsize SUV FFAR, Fullsize Elite GDAR, Premium PDAR, Premium Van PVAR ranges from NZD 19.00 and NZD 25.00 excluding GST per day depending on the rental location. Collision Damage Waiver reduces your damage liability to NZD 340 excluding GST If another person has caused the damage; Enterprise-Redspot will attempt to recover all costs from that person or his-her insurer. The amount paid by you towards damage liability will be refunded to you to the extent Enterprise-Redspot is successful in recovering all costs. Where the Vehicle is hired from a remote Location and driven between sunset and sunrise outside a city province, and loss or damage is the result of a single vehicle accident the renter will be liable for all losses incurred.

Tire and Windshield Protection (WHT)	This reduces the renters financial liablity against damage to Windscreens, Headlights, Tyres and Overhead to Zero. WHTO cover does not cover damage caused by a person stepping, standing or sitting on the roof or any other panel of the Vehicle or by loading or unloading goods. The renter’s liability for Damage to the roof of the Vehicle caused by loading or unloading goods including surf craft, ski or snow board racks is not covered or limited.

Roadside Assistance	This is the roadside assistance service that kicks in where standard breakdown service ends. Premium Roadside Assistance covers those times when you just need a helping hand to get on your way, like fitting a spare tyre or opening a car with the keys locked in. Services offered in the Premium Roadside Assistance program include: • Change a flat tyre (install vehicle’s spare tyre) • Lockout service if you are locked out of your car • Fuel delivery - up to 15 litres at no charge if you run out of fuel • Jump starting your car if the battery is run flat (lights left on) • NZD 150 of accommodation or transport costs (reimbursement of expenses as a result of rental car breakdown) Premium Roadside Assistance is there to help you 24-7. For a daily fee of NZD 3.50 exclusive of GST for all car groups; customers save on all of the above and receive total peace of mind. Please Note: Premium Roadside Assistance will coordinate provider services for you. You will need to be present with the vehicle for Premium Roadside Assistance services to be provided.
